EXPLORERS MOVIES!
Check out these awesome animations made by our young astronauts from the EXPLORING PROGRAM. The Explorers were faced with the challenge of creating a 30 second short film using only paper cut-outs, a few toys, a digital camera, and their unbridled imaginations! Editing was done using iMovie, and the Explorers tracked in their own sound effects and music. So here now, we present these fantastic short films for your viewing enjoyment. NAME THE SPACE STATION MODULE!
Hey kids! How would you like to name the new section of the Space Station? The next Shuttle mission will be delivering Node 2 to the International Space Station, and NASA wants YOU to come up with a NAME for it! (After all, Node 2 just doesn't have a ring to it!)
As you may recall all of the elements have a name – the lab is Destiny, the airlock is Quest, Node 1 is called Unity, etc.
Your Classroom is invited to take the NODE 2 CHALLENGE! It's simple: Turn your Classroom or Hallway into a model of the Node, take some photos for a scrapbook, and think up a name for the Node! Think how cool it would be to have CNN coming to your school to ask you how you decided on such a great name for the Node 2!!!
You will have to move quickly! Deadline for classes/schools to register for the competition is Nov. 17, with entries due Dec. 1. The name will be selected from the submitted entries early in 2007. NASA Headquarters senior management will be involved in the final name selection.
